Newport Junior's win 'The Double' - Triple

Newport Cricket Club Juniors, sponsored by Herald Land, celebrated an amazing 2012 season, winning the Monmouthshire Building Society ‘League and Cup Double’ at all three age levels, (U/11, U/13 & U/15).

Captains: U11- Will Smale, U13 - Ryan Ward, U15 - Matt Jones

Club coach Mike Knight enthused, ‘It may have been a dismal season weather wise, but to win the ‘Double’ at all three age groups is astonishing! It’s never been done before and reflects hugely on the players we have at the club and the tremendous work the coaches are doing. As the only Premier League team in the area, our philosophy is, and always has been, to develop our own talent to play at the top level’

The U/11, U/13 & U/15 teams all remained unbeaten in their respective League and Cup campaigns.
