Newport CC Delighted with Glamorgan Allocation

December 2012

Newport Cricket Club were delighted with the allocation of their Glamorgan players for the
2013 season.
Local players, Huw Waters and Will Bragg will be great aquisitions to the current squad.

Huw Waters

Right arm opening bowler, Huw Waters played as a Junior player for Newport from the age of
10 years old and was instrumental in many of the Club's Junior Achievements in his younger days.

Huw made his Glamorgan debut in 2005 and has, in recent years, delivered some frugal spells in
Championship cricket. He also started the 2012 season in dramatic fashion taking wickets with his
first two balls of the summer in the opening match against Leicestershire at Grace Road.
Huw was named as Glamorgan's 'Championship Player of the Year' for 2012, taking 35 Championship
wickets, with best figures of 7-53 against Hampshire at the SWALEC.

Will Bragg

Left hand, opening bat, Will Bragg is also from the Newport area, having played against the club
on many occasions.
He initially joined the Glamorgan staff in 2007 and has developed into a specialist top-order
batsman. In 2011 he made his maiden Championship hundred against Leicestershire at
Colwyn Bay and ended the summer with over a thousand first-class runs to his name.
In 2012 he scored 648 Championship runs, with a top Championship score of 92 against
Yorkshire at Headingley.

Newport will hope to see the pair during the 2013 season, whenever their Glamorgan commitments allow.
