Lauren Parfitt made Newport Cricket Club history as the first female player to play in the club’s 2^nd team, when she made her debut v Bridgend on Saturday in the South Wales Premier Cricket League, Reserve Division.

Lauren who played regularly in the Newport 3^rd/Development team last season scored an excellent 47 not out and then claimed 2 wickets with her left arm spin bowling. Lauren is also a regular member of the unbeaten Newport Women’s team and is a current member of the Wales Women’s team. Lauren is an excellent role model for the younger girls and coaches the Club’s U13 girl’s team.
