Newport's Women cricketers maintained their 100% winning start to the season when they travelled to play Taunton Griffins in the ECB South & West Women's Regional Premier League.

Batting first Taunton were 132 all out, with Becky Struthers 3-18 and Lauren Parfitt 3-15 being the main wicket takers. Claire Thomas and Anwen Morgan both bowled well, taking 2 wickets apiece.

In reply, Newport slipped to 24-3, before a superb partnership of 98 between Gaby Basketer (48) and Captain Claire Thomas (58 not out) guided Newport to a comfortable 6 wicket victory.
