Newport Cricket Club Mourns The Loss of George Clayden
July 2016
Unfortunately, after a lengthy illness, George Clayden sadly passed away in the early hours of
Sunday, July 31st.
George, husband of Pat and dad to Michael and Andrew, was a true stalwart of the club and
worked tirelessly, generating much needed fund raising for the benefit of the club over many
years. George was instrumental in helping as the club developed in the early days at Spytty Park,
and has been a major figure in supporting the Junior Section of the club, through his dedicated
fund raising. George's efforts have allowed the club to flourish and enjoy it's current successful
status, and will be sadly missed by all.
Our deepest sympathy go to Pat, Michael, Andrew and Families.
Details of the Funeral arrangements will be posted later.
RIP George.
