Newport’s Sam Protheroe reached an important milestone when he scored his first fifty for Wales in the U12 match v Devon at Tiverton this week. Sam a left handed opening batsman has had an excellent start to the season, scoring 60 against the same opponents the previous week when playing for Gwent. Sam has also made other telling contributions with 30n.o in the win against Gloucestershire. He has also bowled very economical spells of left arm spin in matches for Wales.
